RESTAURANTS:
A great place to dine and play with the kids would be McDonald's off Sand Lake RD and International Drive (IDrive). It is home to the world's biggest play place, that offers a variety of food beyond the typical Burger and fries. I'm 19 years old and even I have fun at this McDonald's. It is a fun, cheap, must see, and according to Travel Channel Ranked #2 in their Most Unique McDonald's. http://www.mcfun.com/rest7_3896.shtml
I had so much fun here great show, good food, wonderful staff. What more could you ask for, right?!? Pirates Dinner Adventure, easily accessible off IDrive, and especially after Pirates of the Caribbean, this might be a great place to take the little ones. http://www.piratesdinneradventure.com/florida/home.html
If your kids are as into cars as all the others that I know then they'll absolutely love Race Rock. From the moment you see it down the street (or even off I-4), to the moment you leave you are in car/truck/boat... heaven. Both my little brother and cousin love this place so much that we had to nearly drag them out. They have anything and everything to keep the little ones entertained for awhile. http://www.orlandorocks.com/info.asp?attraction=racerock&location=Idrive&type=overview

ATTRACTIONS:
This place might resemble the theme park, it is completely different, and fun. Hence the name Fun Spot, with go-karts, an arcade, smaller rides for the younger ones... http://www.fun-spot.com/
Intellectual yet fun and interesting all at the same time. Where else but at Kennedy Space Center, although it isn't in Orlando, this is a must see when visiting FL. It's not only great fun for the little ones but for you as well. http://www.nasa.gov/centers/kennedy/home/index.html
The building alone will catch their little eyes, unless they see upside down buildings all the time. WonderWorks wonderful for the whole family, with tons of fun, interactive, mind boggling experiences.http://www.wonderworksonline.com/html/default.htm
If you're kids are fascinated by gators then Gatorland could be a great stop. It's nothing like SeaWorld or Busch Gardens, Gatorland is very unique and different as it's more of a wild life preserve than thempark. http://www.gatorland.com/

If you are visiting the St. Pete area then here are some things that are worth checking out all definitly family friendly and some of my favorite places when I was a kid.
With a huge endless amount of interesting things this is one of my favorite places. The Florida Aquarium located in Tampa with plenty to do for a great price. http://www.flaquarium.org/index.html
Now although I haven't been here in a few years as a kid this was one of my favorite places. Mosi is a great hands on museum that teaches you in a fun way. http://www.mosi.org/
If animals are what fasinates everybody then try Lowry Park Zoo. Cheaper then Busch Gardens with more to see can't be too bad right. http://www.lowryparkzoo.com/

You are also surrounded by some gorgeous beaches, if you want a day of relaxation. Good luck, and enjoy your trip down here to the beautiful Sunshine State.

If you went to Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, AND Busch Gardens during your vacation last year, chances are you missed a lot of stuff there. I find it hard to imagine you did everything at all four theme parks, the two water parks, and Downtown Disney. Plus, there's tons of recreation- mini golf, horseback riding, boating, fishing, fireworks cruises, and so much more. There's no way you did everything at Disney if you went to those other parks. How long did you go to Disney? 3 Days, or not even? You definitely missed out on a lot of awesome stuff.

Also, Disney's Year of a Million Wishes Celebration begins October 1st. There's going to be all kinds of new, fun attractions and stuff.

Try going to Walt Disney World again, it's the only reason to go to the Orlando area.

You could visit the Space Center and go to the Beach in Brevard County. There are some nice places to stay and eat along Cocoa Beach. Kids might like a day of surf school. However, if you like calmer water the Gulf coast is much better. Clearwater Beach is nice and has some busy areas. Sand Key used to be slower, but I'm sure it's quite developed now.

It will still be pretty warm then, u should try Wet-n-Wild water park in Orlando, also a amusement park close to Orlando, it is in Winter Haven about 30mins South of Orlando it is called Cypress Gardens. They have a whole section just for the smaller kids, and more rides for smaller kids here and there around the bigger ones so they don't feel left out. It is cheaper than the parks in Orlando too. Good Luck - Hope u have fun!!

Visit Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota (just south of Tampa along the I4). It is the prettiest, nicest family beach you will ever visit with baby powder soft, pure white sand beaches! Enjoy lunch at their beach pavillion and shower off under their many deck showers before heading back to your hotel.
I visited last month and it is now my absolute favorite beach!
I also recommend visiting Kennedy Space Station, near Cocoa Beach. It is a lot of fun and... shhh don't tell the kids... educational. Cocoa Beach is a lot of fun as well and there is a huge arcade right on the beach for the kids to enjoy. Have fun!

Why not traveling to somewhere other than Orlando, there are many other interesting places to go. Try Miami or Panama City.

St.Pete beach is nice because unlike the atlantic there are usually no waves, it's warmer and there are lots of star fish and sea urchin and sand dollars to find.
