i want to access oracle database using java in window xp, what should i do?

i have jdk 1.4, how to create dsn 4 oracle?, i have install oracle 9i, i m using following code to connect, where example is dsn

Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
Connection con=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:example","", "");

I supprised Oracle 9i is working in wondows XP. it don't work for me.
