Automobile has an accesories, such as two way radio or broadcast radio, cassette, tv and in the most recent models, mobile systems technology including navigational satellite systems. All of the above are equiped with a recievers that requires the use of an antena for clear and accurate reception and therefore, its a standard feature of evey automobile being manufacrtured world wide to have an antena.

Because there are still a few people out there that listen to broadcast radio. Also, I believe that OnStar, and the like, still use antennas to grab satellite signals.

the antenna is for radio reception, without it you will only pick stations that you are very close to, and the reception will be full of static.

They have antennas to pick up radio waves so that the driver and passengers can listen to the radio. Please don't tell me you didn't know this.
