After 2 and a half years, she doesn't owe you anything.

Yes, women can be that cold, especially if we've been burned. If she didn't reply, she either has some bitter feelings left over or she's a little apprehensive because it's really weird that after 2 1/2 years, you are writing her. I'm sure you just didn't stumble upon this email, and it wasn't dropped in your lap, nor did she give it to you. It makes you come off as somewhat of a stalker. It's enough to creep anyone out. You had your chance to get closure a long time ago. Now it's just time to let go and move on. Nothing you can say or ask is going to make this any better for you.

Men and women can be cold at various points in their life. Are you sure she got the email? Have you tried sending another one?
If you are sure she did get the email, and she didnt respond, then I think that tells you she has moved on. Whatever questions you have in your head will have to be worked out by yourself if she is not prepared to talk to you. Sometimes the easiest way to move on with your life is to accept that people are different....we all do things for various reasons and the things you cannot understand has to be put down to this reason. When a relationship ends we all wonder what we could have done differently, so it is normal to have a mass of questions. Time making all the difference is not a cliche....it does and you have to give yourself that time to get over her. You cant make her talk to you....all you can do is try. You can also try counselling if the questions you have are really holding you back....or you could talk to a close friend, maybe they can answer the questions you have, or at least give their opinions.

You are having difficulty moving on from this relationship which can happen to any of us (so ignore the previous message calling you a loser!). Unfortunatley, in or out of any realtionship, we are only in control of our own actions, thoughts and feelings. Another person can never experience 'our reality' which makes it seem like she is being in cold when in fact its just her reality of the situation is different to yours. Does that make sense? If you dig deep you will discover that in fact you do have a alterior motive and that is the need to make contact with this person for whatever reason. Although your request is not unreasonable, you must accept that she has moved on and you have no other choice but to do the same. If you are having real difficulty doing this, which again is not uncommon, contact Relate and speak to a Counsellor there. They will be able to help you get back the sanity and peace of mind you so desire. By doing this yourself you will learn to feel a greater wholeness of self and when you enter a new realtionship you will no longer need another person in order to feel happy. The best of Luck

I have some ex boyfriends that i wouldn't want to hear from. Probably cos i wasn't that in to them in the first place so if they suddenly emailed me, i wouldn't be replying to their emails 2 1/2 years down the line.
The love of my life however was another story. I missed him so much but within a month we were back together. What i'm trying to say (badly) is that if you meant anything to each other you would have been in contact long before now because a short amount of time apart feels like a life time if you loved each other. I don't think this is the case. I'm guessing you're just bored and perhaps a little lonely and are trying to cling on to something that used to make you happy. I think you should let this one go sweetheart and just go out and have a laugh with your mates. You never know who you might meet......

that last sentence "...can a woman really be that cold". Um....it(like I've answered so many times today) depends on the situation. She might think that you're simply trying to get her back after 2 AND A HALF YEARS. One of the guys are right : she's called an ex for a reason. Even if you explain to her whether you did right or wrong doesn't change the past.

Actually, I think that it might still be too recent for her. My other half was in a relationship for 9 years, then was single for a year before he met me, and we have now been together for 13 years.

For about the first 2 years, his ex lived quite near us and I'd occasionally bump into her. She quite understandably didn't really want to talk with either of us, which was a shame because she was a very nice woman. However, my man always felt that things didn't finish comfortably, and he had that nagging feeling that there were still things that needed to be discussed.

After we were together for nearly 7 years, we decided to move to another country, and I was already gone and setting up house there, he was packing our stuff in the first country, and he found some old photos of her that he thought she'd like, so he phoned her to tell her. She was very pleased at his consideration, as she thought she'd lost those photos, and he said that he would prefer if she came to the house to pick them up. She did, they had a coffee and a good talk, and sorted out quite a lot of issues - in six years both of them had moved on, and she had had trust issues, which was part of the reason for their original break-up. He was very happy that they finally talked about things that they couldn't, and she was too once she realised that she was getting into a discussion that was just as relevant to her and that she could handle.

Incidentally she was happy in another relationship at the time, and was able to view their (my man's and her) relationship in a different light at that stage, having had a bit of therapy herself to deal with her trust and insecurity issues which stemmed from an emotionally insecure family background. I am very happy for both of them, and have said that I'd welcome her and her family to my house if they were ever in the area. I hope they do come, as I said, she was a nice woman.

That's what my husband did.
I just had to get used to it! There was no completion.

The sub-conscious is very stupid - it believes the last thin you tell it. At the moment it's swimming round with events around your ex.
You have to replace that with something else, every time you find yourself trying to justify your behaviour, or even just thinking about events then replace the thought with the new one. Make the new thought positive and strong, like 'I am over this. This is past. There's someone else waiting in my bright new future....' or something that resonates with you!
Eventually your subconscious will help you change your life.

I am sorry Shine, you will have to face the fact that the lady has laid your relationship to rest and hard and harsh tho it may seem, you must do the same. Going over old scores does no-one any good - try to have fun and new friends, keep busy to keep your mind off your problems. Now put all this away and move on. It works xx

well some girls can be really cold..and to be honest all depend of what it have happened between the guy and her...i mean i wouldnt write back if i broke with my bf because he was mean or really hurt me ...but if we broke and no one ended hurt well why not? but remember everysingle mind its different....and if she didnt answer...write her again..so if this time she doesnt write u back its because he has closed this part of his life which is the most sure and well u will find ur sanity urself...sometimes isnt better to go back to the past..cause many things can come up and wounds will be opened again and its not good for u nor for her...so leave the past in the past sweet..and just keep walking...
