I have done searches on a public web page, and now all my past searches still show up (like on a drop down). I've deleted all the cookies, temp internet files and it is still there. How can I get rid of them? Where am I missing them in the files?

be careful: you need to delete the entries in the registry that reference the sites.

Click Start then Run and type regedit and hit enter or click run.

in the registry click EDIT in the menu bar and then FIND

enter one of those site names into the box and click FIND

You should find a registry key that includes the list of sites you have visited. Highlight one and the hit the delete key and repeat for each of those sites -- shouldnt be more than 20 and they should be located in the same folder in the registry

one caveat: u can really screw up the operating system by editing the registry incorrectly.

be careful

I guess you went to tools, interenet options, delete history files?

Try that.

Then try deleting all the cookies again and all the temp files again from there. It really should work.
