If she is getting a car, get her a gift basket of things for the car. For example put the following together: a cute license plate frame, a gift certificate for a free car wash, a gift card for gas, some of those scented doodads to make the inside of the car smell sweet, some of those armorall wipes etc...

I wanted a car naturally, but instead i got roses, a sweet sixteen ring and a visa with a small limit to learn how to budget, and i have to say it helped cause now i know of the responsibility that a visa has with it.

a girl turning 16 would want a cell phone, a car, a hot boyfriend with whom she can jealous other girls. independence! lot of clothes, accessories,and some cosmetics.

i dont know, cause im turning 16 myself this year. im hoping to get a chop saw or table saw or even a chainsaw, but i doubt that will happen. but i think anybody turning 16 would want a car, except for me.

A cell phone is always nice, or to get their lisence and a car, but the cell phone is a cheaper way to go...like a pre-paid one or something!
