Yes, it is extremely excessive. You should see a doctor and have his opinion.

Totally excessive. A doctor, counselor, parent, trusted friend are all good tools to start communicating with. Be open and honest about your depression, ultimately a doctor can help determine the best way to treat you. Remember that it is a serious ailment and by being open about it you stand a better chance to recover. Think of what is depressing you and figure out why it bothers you SO much. There are people that can help you and want to help if you let them in and understand what you are going through. Good luck to you and enjoy life!!! :-)

If you need to talk more about it privately with someone who doesn't know you e-mail through here and I will listen to you, but I really suggest you see a doctor and talk with people who are close to you about this.

Yes it is excessive. It is the reason you are depressed. I don't believe you. I think you are up eating longer than the supposed five hours are are awake. Not including TV time.
You need to stop sleeping so much, stop eating so much, and turn off the damn TV. Exercise. You'll sleep shorter and rest better, you'll be hungrier, and have more energy, not less.

no its not normal. Are you suffering from depression or just really that tired? Do you have any symptoms of being sick? Like sore throat, headache, weakness...cuz those are symptoms of mono...i'd talk to your doc. or if its just that you choose to sleep, then force yourself to stay awake and be active. Do things, go for a walk...anything but dont waste your life sleeping

Wow!! What kinda job do you have that lets you sleep that much? I know dead people that don't spend that much time lying down. Get a hobby, like shooting speed!

if you are having problems forcing yourself out of bed, have someone else force you out of bed.

tell your friend, parent, sibling, anyone, to force you out of bed at 9 am. tell them they can't leave untill you are out of bed.
