Blame the media for making people obsessed with celebs. Try to be yourself, not a follower of some celebrity. One of the reasons why I watch less TV now is those entertainment tabloid shows such as ET. Extra, The Insider, Access Hollywood. Who really cares! I read real news and that have a major impact on the people of this country and the world such as Time, Newsweek, U.S News & World Report, The Wall Street Journal. I'm just not addicted to pop culture like it's a part of my life, but it really isn't.

Let's just say if I was an owner of an NFL team and a celebrity shows up outside the stadium, I wouldn't give him or her the VIP treatment like hanging out on the sidelines with the players and coaches. They'd have to order tickets or a luxury suite in advance unless I invite him or her personally. If the game is sold out, there's nothing that the celebrity could do about it. They're just like everybody else, come on people!

Celebrities are the media created super humans people want to be. By liking a celebrity people make a connection with what they like in them and by endorsing the characteristics of a particular celebrity people identify themselves with those qualities and to some degree have a sense of ownership about those qualities they would like to have.
