In the continental states, I mean. Hawaii is too far and expensive. I live in OK, so a weekend getaway would be nice. Any ideas?

I am going to add- I am only working on my open water diver course now, so open water places would be nice, but thanks for the info. about Arkansas cave diving, maybe I will get there one day.

Michigan is a good place to scuba dive. There are hundreds of shipwrecks to explore in the Great Lakes. And, being that the Great Lakes are fresh water, the wrecks are well preserved.

there are a number of stable places to dive. On Oahu, Shark's Cove on the north shore is stable interior the summertime. Hanauma Bay on the east area is stable twelve months around. Molokini off of Maui is stable.

Monterey Bay in California (They have an underwater preserve there)

I've also heard of people diving in caves in Arkasas and Florida...not too far for you!
