If your trip costs $1000.00 and you save $20.00 each week at the end of the year you will be able to take that trip. If the trip is more expensive, divide the cost by 52 and the resulting amount is what you have to save each week to enjoy that trip. That is how I went on yearly vacations. Good luck.

I have wondered the same. I have three kids so it's always expensive for us to travel. I always spend more than I planned traveling. Good ways to travel is to take a tour or a cruise, that way the meals, prices and entertainment are preset and events are planned.
If I were single I'd be a travel nurse and go all over the country, maybe even the world, but alas I am not.

We save alot and plan for them. There are lots of discount deals anbd travel groups with travel rates. Us in the Army get to travel for almost nothing. Great perk. Well worth the commitment. I can do a week in Hawaii, 4 star hotel, on the beach for under $1000, that includes round trip flights for the wife and myslef.

I wish too that I can travel a lot but the thing is - it's very expensive to travel most especially if I want to go outside of the country.
But well, me and my boyfriend are planning to go to Hongkong (our first travel together) this September to celebrate my birthday. It's only a plan now (but we're trying our best) because we have to have at least $500 for each one of us just to get there...
Most people who travel a lot have plenty of money on their pocket and if you're lucky enough, your company will pay for your trip.

Some are DINKS (double income no kids), maybe have a certain age (savings) which allows them to travel more often, backpackers (low cost travellers) and last but not least: maybe won in the lottery!

By using their credit card limit, or on budget traveling.
Rich people travel for business and too busy with their business, so unlikely can travel for holiday that much.

If you time it right, traveling isn't as expensive as you might think. I have caught some really great deals and taken advantage of them when I could. You just have to search around.

It's just a matter of priorities. If you make travel a priority, then you can afford to do it. It's pretty cheap IF you plan well. I travel a lot.

They are paid well, or are living off their parents. Most of my friends are just paid well, but I know someone who travels a lot and he doesn't pay rent he rents his parents place out.

Sometimes their jobs pay for them, or they save up their money or they get overpaid or they get a raise so then they can use that money for a business trip or you can be a model :)
