I was at my friend's house the other day and when I woke up in the morning and rolled over on my back, my friend's foot was hanging over the bed and I thought to myself, how the hell can he sleep with socks on lol, but I dunno, maybe I'm just weird.

Some people sleep, with their socks on, because, they're too lazy or tired to take them off before, they go to sleep.
Some people sleep, with their socks on, because, their feet get cold, during the night, and it helps them to sleep, better.
If, a person leaves the socks, that they have worn, all day to bed, to go to sleep in...that's sort of 'gross'. But, if a person, puts a pair of clean socks, on, when they are prepared to go to bed, that's a little different.
I don't think you're weird, you just were not necessarily, brought up, to wear socks, to bed...

I can sleep with socks on but usually don't, plus one of them always seems to slip off during the night.
And as a nurse working night shift, I can assure you I know for a fact that a LOT of people sleep with socks on too.

lol, i think it is weird not to sleep with socks on. i mean in the past year i have slept without socks maybe 3 or 4 times. i dont know, but even if it is hot it feels funny without them.

I totally get what you mean! I hate sleeping in socks because it's just so...uncomfortable. I don't understand how anyone can wear them when they sleep, it's weird!

OMG, my husband and I have this argument all the time, he wears 2 socks (as in two pairs) and it drives me crazy even in the summer! and FYI sleeping with socks on has been linked to diabetes (go figure)

I sleep with wet socks because my feet get hot. How's that? I hear some people get cold feet and that's why they sleep with (dry) socks.

there was actually some kind of study conducted that tested how quickly people fell asleep, and typically people with socks on were able to fall asleep faster. sorry i don't have a reference so you're just going to have to take my word for it.

i love sleepin wit socks they feel comfy and cozy and warm especially since i tend to get cold feet even in this hot florida weahter!

lots of people do, especially when its cold. Then there are other people who sleep with one foot out of the bed (to help regulate their temputure).
