I just had a complete hysterectomy and I do not want to take the premarin because of the possible side affects IE: Cancer
The only reason I am on it now is for the hot flashes which are unbearable without the premarin. My Doctor thinks the premarin is the best way to go for me. Any suggestions?

My wife gave up her premarin and began taking DHEA 25-50 mg a day with Pregnenolone 10 mg a day. It worked well for her and her doctor seemed to have no problem with it when she informed him. YOu can get both items from health food stores or Swansonvitamins.com

There are a great many natural herbs that can be used my mother used when she was younger. I would go research these I cannot remember the name of them she tried to get me on a few when I was younger rather than take the pill to strengthen my bones after an illness. I think there is black cohosh and a few other things I sent some to my sister as she thinks she has begun menopause. There are a large variety of them on the market of different prices and combinations. The best thing is to begin researching it. Obviously it helped her as she quit complaining about it after I sent it to England for her. I also told her Soya is very very good for women so try drinking some of that flavored soya milk. There are several formulations that are well known. And I do knkow that the black cohosh works very similar to estrogen for me such that I quit them both as they give me morning sickness type illness, slow me down a great deal. There is also a yam from South America that is loaded with lots of vitamins which help your body that helped me a great deal I cannot remember its name now I use to buy it in a dry powder then mix it with things to drink it. I did this mainly for illness but I am closer to the age of menopause so I may consider this as estrogen or anything similar makes me very physically ill.
A good diet, exercise, relaxation, drinking adequate water, good nutrition all these will help your body cope with the stress it has been subjected to.

Red Clover, Black Cohosh, Raspberry leaves (tea or capsules), soy supplements, and have you heard of HGH? you can get it in health food stores and it's wonderful-you need to try the spray for under the tongue. Physicians talk agains this only because they want you to spend the money on the shots and I think also because they team up with pharmaceutical companies. Get a book on homeopathy or women's health.

I had breast cancer and can not take anything for hot flashes. My oncologist told me to take vitamin E before bed. It does help some. I seem to have them worse at night. I keep the air down. Good luck it sucks.

Mine have almost stopped completely by not eating sugar. Drink ice water, use ice packs, and eat lots of popsicles.
