Why do guys back off of girls that have a boyfriend? I like meeting new guys at parties or whereever. When I'm talking to them and hanging out its good untillll they find out that I have a boyfriend...and then its like "oh we cant hang out with her anymore". Im so sick of it!!! Cant guys just be friends with me even though I have a boyfriend?

Perhaps its a good thing a guy backs off when he knows your taken by someone else. That says a little something about his character. A guy that has absolutely no respect for someone else and would talk to another guys girlfriend means that if you were his girlfriend then he would probably talk to other girls behind your back and not care either. I know what you are saying about just wanting to be friends, but guys don't look at it like that. Most of the time they want more. And most of the time just innocently talking to other guys as "friends" lead to other things. Would you want your boyfriend doing that to you? Just talking to other girls at parties to make "friends?"

Well they may be interested in more than that! How does your boyfriend feel? If you are going to party's and hanging with them and they are coming to the conclusion that your available then you are probably sending out the wrong signal.
Think about meeting quality people and let them know straight out you are interested in friendship and that you have a boyfriend.

I'ma young , and not that expericened but from what i have gone thought i do know that it all depends on what kind of a woman you are , i mean for me i could'nt be friends with a gurl/woman if all they wanted to do was talk about their bf and other broing things , so really i guy would be your friend , if one you were a fun person to be around and two if the guy were interested into just gettin to know you as a friend/or if the guy is willing to put up with you bf bein all protective and stuff.
Or if you really think of it , it kinda gives people the worng idea that they are gay or somthing (i'ma not sayin be gay is bad or wrong).Anyhow hopes this helps you out.

It seems that they are not interested in you unless they think they have a chance of getting somewhere with you. WHy would you have a problem with that? Do you crave male attention and need male approval to bolster you ego? Be glad that they are respecting your situation and keeping their distance. If they onlywant to get somewhere with you they don't really want to be your friends, anyway. WHy are you out flirting and trying to attract guys if you have a boyfriend, anyway? Doesn't he give you the fulfillement you need? Did your father not pay attention to you growing up? Is that why you crave male approval? Ask yourself there questions before you get all mad about it....

You know, I've been wondering myself, where this "going with" thing came from. Even kids in grade school talk about "going with" someone. When my mom was in highschool, she would go on a lunch date with one guy then go home and get dressed up for a dinner date with another. This was accepted behavior. Young people spent time with several people of the opposite sex. It gave them more of a pool to choose from when selecting a mate. I think we have messed up the selection process somehow.

Maybe you ignore the fact that all the guys you want to be 'just friends' with are single. A better question should be "why are single guys like this?"

no b/c you are with someone and they dont want to get involve..you truly love your boyfriend then stop meeting new guys... on the other hand, if you enjoy meeting new guys the break up with your boyfriend...

They're not women. They don't want a shopping buddy. They don't want to be your friend or ask about your day or talk about your hair. They want to know if you're available, and if you aren't they want to go find someone who is.

guys and girls can not be just friends. girls that we are just friends with are just girls we havent been able to have sex with yet. once we have sex with you then we are not freinds anymore because it is just awkward.
