I went grocery shopping in my regular store today and slipped on a small amount of water in an aisle. There werent any signs to warn of this and I didnt notice because it was small. A man witnessed this account. I did the splits and now have a bruised knee, bruised forearm from the metal rack in the aisle that I tried to cushion my fall, and hip pain. I already have back problems so I tried to go down easy and gracefully but that didnt happen. Now my hip is hurting. I let a worker know and she took my info and said that a mgr would notify me on Monday. What can I do of this situation and expect to happen? The freezer aisle is next to this aisle and I wonder if something was wrong with it and that is where the water came from. Please help..

You were injured at a public place,so they are responsible for your injuries and YES your humiliation. It is good you have a witness.Did you get his name and information? You NEED to go to the doctor so he can collaborate and document the injuries,so it won't be your word against theirs.Plus it would hold up better in court.

What will more than likely happen is the Manager will call you and find out what happened, and see if you are fine. He/She will also offer to pay for a medical visit. They are doing this to make them look good so you don't turn around and sue them. To help prevent liability, the store needed to make every attempt to prevent the situation. Wet floor signs should have been up, and the water mopped up. If there was a puddle that was enough for you to slip on it, then someone didn't do their job. To prevent liability, the store has to make "all reasonable attempts" to prevent injury to a person.
Now, if they were not aware of the water on the floor, that is not an excuse. They could try to argue it, but it is (in most all retail establishments it is customary for managers to walk the store every so often to check the floors and store for any issues) their responsibility to know what is in their store.
Do not settle or speak to them about settling until you speak to a lawyer. If you accept any sort of money from them, that consists of accepting a settlement, and they will not be obligated for anything that happens further down the road that may be a direct result of the slipping that day. Find out your rights, and make sure you know what to do. The store is calling their lawyer, so call yours.

Call a lawyer and see a doctor. Document the injury wiht pictures.
You may decide you don't want to sue, but maybe you will find out that you are more hurt than you think.
A girl's father when I was growing up got a very large settlement for slipping on rotten fruit in the grocery store. He had back problems, etc after that.

Oops!
You slipped and fell down. Poor you!
I am not going to pay higher grocery bills because of your clumsiness.
Besides, if you needed medical attention, you should have sought it from the position you were in lying on the floor.
You got up.
You bought your groceries.
You loaded them into your car.
You took them home.
For all we know you are equally clumsy at home and you slipped and fell on a puddle of water in your own kitchen.
If I am on the jury for your trial, you will not get one cent.

It appears that they are at fault for your current injuries. Speak with a lawyer and give him the details. He will be able to gather the facts and inform you of your best course of action.

You slip and fall on your knees, your "bloody hands' (in) supplication", yet you "won't pray". to no longer the cursing Father with whom you're imprisoned by utilising "The stone which set you loose..." (yet Our Father) This has an intensity and capacity it is very virtually frightening. i'm able to experience it nevertheless, drawing me back in to study it over back. stunning. thank you.
