There may or may not be a reason. A high voice, a feminine manner of moving hands and arms.
If you are certain you are not gay, then all you need do is prove it by showing up with a girlfriend.
I had a friend after high school who was a bit " feminine acting" by what people label such. but he was not, when he got married people were sure it wouldn''t last, but it did.
First, figure out if you are or if you aren't.
Then deal with it....

It is not nice to be called names that are not your own Gay or Not. If you are gay and they think you are well that is because you are. If you are not gay you may be doing things that have a gay tone to them. They may just be trying to upset you and they are getting a reaction out of you. No matter what name calling is wrong. It is okay if you are gay. If you are not that is okay. I would just try to be as confident as any human can be in whatever you are. Just try to ignore it and not to overcompensate for it. Realize people usually do that because they are insecure about themselves and have to attack others. They may feel something is wrong with them and they have to attack others. People attacked me and my BF when we were younger and we realized that when we got into the real world and out of the stupid little insignifigant fish bowl of school it is really different and the people that mattered then are pretty stupid now. Realize that you have a whole wide world ahead of you. I know it is hard to see now, but those people are just mean idiots. The one thing that I did was laughed in the face of a guy that was making fun of me when he was all alone and did not have backing just me and him. It took the power away from him. They are just words. I just wish I knew then what I do now and I would have been so happy back then. I wish I could implant it in you and let you have a happy life, but I cannot. All I can say is that it is not true and just try to be happy and realize those idiots will be fat and worthless really soon. They will be a little fish in a really big pond. Once they get out of school the celebrity is gone and they are lost.

Wow I have a few comments to make. First dont worry. People are cruel and they will keep saying things as long as they know they are hurting/bothering you. Keep your head up and don't change.
Second this is a response to gays are subhuman. I am married and not gay however my best friend is and I think it is a horrible mean thing to say. It is a scientifically proven that being gay is not a choice it is in the makeup of our genes. They can not help it however you can help your ignorance. Third I hate when people say acting gay. How do you act gay by being a sensitive male. Or by playing sports as a female. Grow up and mature. Please dont anyone hand me that religious bunch of bull either. I am catholic and know the bible quite well. If you have ever read the bible most of you should be condemed to death. Did you know it says in the bible that if a man lays in bed with a woman on her period that he shall be sentenced to death. Or that if a man sleeps with a sheep the sheep will die and not the man. SO please ram all of that bologna up your a$$es. sorry for the rant people are irritating.

Calm your dress habits down and be more outgoing so that people get to know you. Remember there are a lot of jerks and you can't change that! If you are dressing or acting different you may want to tone it down!
If you are happy with who you are then get some friends that except you for you.

Stop caring, people will say anything they want to say about you regardless of how perfect you are. These people will probably not be in your life in the next few years. As long as you stay true to yourself, at the end of the day, you are not going to regret compromising yourself for a few buttheads. (Yeah, that's right, I said "butthead" and I'm not even in elementary school)

If you are, well, a lot of girls (as reverse and strange as it sounds...) like gay guys. Be a bi.
And if you aren't, then just drop subtle hints (Julie's looking nice, do you think I should ask Tonya out, etc.).
If they keep teasing you, tell your counselor or principal and tell them to KEEP IT ANONYMOUS. Constant teasing is bullying, too.

find an ugly girl, treat her like she was miss America, date her for at least 6 months. that will kill the rumors. DONT KNOCK HER UP, go out have fun and forget gay rumors, the ones that start that stuff is hopeing your gay and probably have a crush on you.

The only person you should listen to is yourself. If you are gay, then you are gay. If you arent- well heck you arent. I say dont mind what others are saying- people are childish....
