It's my favorite song of all time, and I don't know why.

I love that song!!

BTW: the song is played during "Clerks 2". I had almost forgotten how great the song was until I heard it again in the movie!

Yeah, when that CD came out, I literally listened to it for over a year nonstop.

1979 is a decent song in the pop world, but it is definitely out of place on this album. It doesn't fit with the other songs, for some reason, maybe because of where it is placed in the CD? It just sounds wrong and breaks up the continuity of the 2nd CD.

Here are my favorite songs of Mellon Collie. I would estimate I've listened to this album over 1000 times, without a doubt. So, I consider myself an "expert", haha. Na, this is my opinion and rank of the best 10 songs on MCIS

1. Here Is No Why
2. Muzzle
3. Galapagos
4. Bullet
5. Jellybelly
6. Scorched Earth
7. Bodies
8. Porcelina
9. Tonight, tonight
10. 1979

Siamese Dream is still, without question, their best CD. When Siamese Dream was recorded, the band had a huge blowout, and as a result, only Jimmy, Corgan and Butch Vig played on the CD. I love Iha and whats her face, but they could be lost and replaced.

By the way, from what I gather, they could make a CD at any time. They are still friends and could get back together, even though Corgan is very dysfunctional and hard to work with.

I love the Smashing Pumpkins! I like that song too. There are so many that I like though that I don't think that I could narrow it down to just one that is my favorite.

The only song of theirs that I really liked and enjoyed was "Tonight".

The video was really outstanding with the "Man in the Moon" theme which was borrowed from a very old 1901 H.G. Wells story and the black and white silent movie from 1919, "The First Men in the Moon".

Smashing pumpkins is fine as long as its halloween and you wait till the trick or treaters are finished, after that all pumpkins are fair game.
