They use to when Yahoo answers started in December, but too many people started asking stupid questions just to get points. And thats when they changed it to what we have now.

The whole point thing is kind of cool. I am on here because I don't have much of a life not that I am not an interesting person I find a lot of poeple boring to be around so I just think the points I do get are a great bonus.

No, because then there would be even more stupid questions on this website than there already is - and it seems like it is at a maximum right now as it is - even losing 5 pts...
I think if people vote that you have a good question you should get points for good questions.

By choosing a best answer we recieve 3 points back, so in a way we only lose 2 points for asking a question...

Well, Yahoo wants to make sure people are answering questions rather than just asking them. I think if we got points for asking questions, we'd have people always asking lots of questions, but rarely getting answers for them.
