Black Rose?

i just started bringing back to life an almost dead red rose bush. it has two rosebuds growing on it. my friend is going to die in sixth months and she told me that she wanted me to put two roses on her casket; a red rose and a black rose. she and i know there is no naturally black rose. i was wondering if anyone knows how to succesfully "dye" a rose black.

i know this sounds weird but i REALLY need to do this. it is just this wierd feeling. and the it seemed like a miracle that the rose bush grw only two, perfect red roses. she is a very good friend

Get a white rose and cut the end of it at a slant, then put it into a glass of water and add black food coloring or dye.

Or, you can make a special order to a flower shop, I'm sure they'll know how to do it.

Design Master is the preferred brand of floral paint by most florists. It comes in black. Spray paining is much faster than dying. You can purchase this type of paint at most craft stores, or through your local florist (who will be happy to spray it black for you for a small fee if any).

Florists use floral spray paint designed for spraying flowers.
You can usually purchase it at craft supply store like Michaels, call around. Or call your local florist and ask them if they will spray it.
hold a papertowel around the rest of the rose so it wont get black on it.
( warning it will smell like paint when its done and if you use regular spray paint get a matte finish.)

I believe that roses turn black form drastic temperature change try really cold like a freezer and use a red rose.

Use Rit water soluble dye. Disolve in hot water then let it completely cool.........4 or 5 hours and then in the fridge overnight........before dipping the rose in it.
