its about a teacher that goes to a high school where all the kids are punks and dont wanna learn but he helps them. i remember a part about a really smart girl but shes moving away and he tries to talk her dad out of it or something. and her dad works at a restraunt. i wanna see the movie but i cant remember the name.

I haven't seen Stand and Deliver, but I know Dangerous Minds is not what you're looking for, since the teacher in that is female (Michelle Pfeiffer-sp?)

I know it's not The Substitute but that movie rocks and you need to go watch it now. Make sure you watch it before you watch The Substitute 2 and The Substitute 3, otherwise you won't know what is going on.
