I am extremely sensitive to perfume (even the sligtest whiff makes me very sick, very quickly). I just bought this air purifier, and my father decided to test it while I was gone by spraying a bottle of perfume about 10 times in the living room to see if the air purifier worked.

Now the entire house absolutely reeks, as does the air purifier machine. Opening windows does not help. The tuff was sprayed oer 8 hour ago, and I need to find a way to get rid of the perfume because I have already thrown up 2 times in 30 min since I got home (sorry for the detail).

Remember, even the smallest whiff makes me very ill, and the smell is EVERYWHERE (it's all over the house, on everything). Do I have to move out? Please help. Thank you. God bless.

Ugh, I feel for you because I am so sensitive to perfumes, too. If you're that sensitive, maybe cleaning the carpets in the living room. I wouldn't reccomend febreeze because that will just add another smell to the perfume, which makes it worse sometimes. Leave all the doors and windows open for a few days. Wash any blankets that were in the room, and wipe down anything that is cloth that could have the smell on it. I feel for you. Why would your dad do that?? Good luck!

Maybe you should leave for a while. Have your dad keep changing the water in your purifier every 30-60 minutes. Open all the doors and windows maybe even set up a fan by the door or window to help suck out the smell. If you have any room fans like the bathroom or above your stove turn those on as well. Good luck. I was like that when I was pregnant and perfume would just make me so sick.

Look for the Medical Supply company in your area.
These businesses sell wheelchairs & walkers, aids for people with disabilities. They may be able to rent you a machine to clean the air in your home. Do you have a "Call a Nurse" line? They are a good information source. You will definately need a high powered machine but you may not need to buy it. I recommend you stay out of the house until you find the solution.

If you get an air machine with ozone it will get rid of it. They are expensive. You will need to leave the house while it is in use.
Other than that I have no idea.
Can you clean the air machine you have now and restart it and reclean the air??
What was he thinking. If nothing else open the windows turn on some fans and leave over night if that is possible.

Sheesh, what was your dad trying to prove? That's an awful lot of perfume even for a none-sensitive person to take!

Try setting fans to blow out the windows, and turn on the oven and bathroom vents. Meanwhile, stay elsewhere until the house finishes airing.

Good luck!

Try exchanging that scent for another.
Use a strong solution of clorox bleach to clean the house. The smell of bleach eventually fades.
Don't leave your father alone in the house again. He has a strange sense of humor.

It would be best if you could get away from the house until it clears. A neutralizer of some sort maybe.
