I've been smoking it for 32 years except for periods when I had to quit, like drug tests and such. I never had a problem quitting but keep going back to it because I like it.

There is no actual chemical in marijuana that is addictive, but people can become addicted because they like the feeling it gives them. The high is what is addictive, not the marijuana itself.

speaking from experience I have found it is easier to quit smoking marijuana as oppose to quitting cigarrettes or alcohol.
Marijuana is more of a mental addiction and your environment can affect your desire for it...for example if you hang around people who smoke pot then you will have a harder time not smoking since that is what everyone else is doing...I was once a very heavy smoker as were all my friends and roomates...do to certain cirmunstances I had to quit cold turkey...it was kinda hard at first since everyone else was still smoking and I did slip a few times but as time went by and I have found that even the smell of the stuff makes me nauseous...
No marijuana is not physically addictive...it all depends on your personalitly...if you have and addictive personality then your chances of thinking you need the drug are higher but your body is not actually "addicted" it is all in your head.

Just like anything else, "in moderation". People become addicted to alot of things, food, drugs, (that includes marijuana), sex. It's usually your personality that causes such things, a mental thing. Like OCD.

humans manage to become psychologically and /or physiologically addicated to many substances. while not an expert by any means, i think that the current view on "weed" is that the addiction is usually psychological. but, can the two types of addiction really be separated?. isn't there at least some component of "physiologically" even in a supposed case of "psychologically"? ;-)

A person can be psychologically addicted to virtually anything.
But there isn't an identifiable chemical dependancy yet associate with it.

Physically, no. Mentally, not unless you have addictive personality traits, or you want it to be that way
