ok i understand that crickets are good luck and all, but when we're having to kill 5 and 6 a day it's a little excessive wouldn't you say. i also have a 4 years old daughter who isn't fond of bugs in the slightest. so i can't have her running around all day screaming that there is a bug in her room.

The previous house that I bought was full of crickets. They were
in my closets and just come hopping out when I was watching tv, or what ever. I tried to get rid of them with sprays, but that didn't
work. I threw those bombs under the house with no luck, so I called in an exterminator. He got rid of them for less money than
I had spent for all of the other stuff I tried. Good luck.

Get a cat or dog.
Plug exterior walls and weatherstripped doors and windows(save on energy costs as well).
Spray poison which should also slow down the kid especially if you are not reading directions.
Sleep while pretending you are camping AND be grateful that all is well when they're playing(they quiet when danger is near)... and instead of roaches or ants or lice you have crickets!

don't forget sticky (glue) boards. We never had so many of the camel crickets (brown) in her house before in spite of living in the woods in the Ozarks, but this year (evidentally because of the rain) they are everywhere! the sticky boards plus Ortho Home Defense sprayed everywhere has helped keep them down.

Anyone who says crickets are good luck in the house have never tried to sleep in a room where one in hiding starts to chirp after you turn off the light and just start to doze. They are impossible to find and will drive you crazy. They seem to like damp, dark places, and are worse in the fall of the year about coming into the house. I have a cat who likes to help hunt them down.

Sprinkle boric acid powder along baseboards and other places where the crickets will go. The powder gets on them and they carry it back to the rest of the population where it gets on them and they get chemical burns and die.
Boric acid is about as safe or dangerous as ordinary table salt so you do not need to worry about small children or pets being affected. You can get boric acid at any drug store as it also has medicinal uses. You can also use Borax as it is the same substance.

thats supposed to be good luck but if you would rather take your chances then there is a spray you can buy from Walmart called Bug away or something to the sort and it works.... You can spray it inside and outside and it isnt expensive and it is a gallon size bottle with a sprayer hose on it! Works great for any pest ants, fleas, etc....
