A person's lifestyle should have nothing whatsoever to do with the workplace. To advertise such would be to alienate others and therefore be considered discriminatory. The easiest way would be to advertise employment in publications that target alternative lifestyles without mentioning it at all.

You must also make sure that sexual orientation or gender identity descrimination is not allowed and is included in your company's human resources equal opportunity statement.
Just saying you hire all kinds doesn't mean you won't fire them if they're out in the work place.
In my state, it is actually illegal to fire on the basis of age, gender, race, religion and sexual orientation/gender idenitity. BUT this took us over fourty years to have that added to our state's equal opportunity verbage of our state constitution.
Also know that the term "lifestyle" has NOTHING to do with one's sexual orientation or gender identity.
Although I'm a lesbian, this does not have anything to do with how qualified I may or may not be for a specific position.
My lifestyle, regardless of my sexual orientation, may be concidered as "alternative" simply because I participate in community theater, or because I'm politically active...or because I do things in my "off time" that other employees may not. Again, this has nothing to do with my employment qualifications or how well I actually preform my duties.
Be VERY careful about how you word your company's human resources equal employment statement.

Such an advertisement would be tacky. I once saw a sign at a restaurant that read,"Police eat here for free". Just make sure the person who does the hiring will treat ALL applicants with courtesy and respect and will hire them based on their ability to do the job,not on their gender, skin color, politics, religion or sexual preference. Watch over your employees and they will watch over you. The best advertisement is word of mouth.

A conspicuously placed rainbow in your ad works visually. Mentioning you do not discriminate based on race, color, age, nationality, sexual orientation, etc. is good too. If you have any authority over the benefits/HR dept. you could also make it a point to mention that your medical benefits also cover domestic partners. That is a huge plus amongst the gay working community and will definitely draw people and be a competitive advantage.

Remember that many gay people would consider calling homosexuality a "lifestyle" derogatory, as it isn't a choice, it's something you're born being (ie, it's no more a lifestyle than being African-American).
That being said, I think "open to diversity" is a good phrase to use in your advertisements. Good luck, and thanks for being open-minded in your hiring practices!

Put one of those little rainbow flags in the corner of the advertisement. "Alternative" people will know what it means.

Go to gay job fairs (they are held annually in NY) also there are gay professionals organizations that often have job postings where they can post the job.
