In our old apartment my family and i used to hear footsteps and water running it always sounded as if someone was in the kitchen doing dishes or taking a bath in the bathroom,my mum and some family and friends who have slept there have said to have seen a man very tall wearing a hat and suit often mumbling something bout money he hid...most of those friends and family members never slept over after the experience..i used to have a friend that lived with me a short while because he was homeless and he knew nothing bout this and one day while he ws sleeping he said he woke up and saw the ghost , my friend was screaming like crazy and because he had no where to go he would try and sleep but with a string attached to his foot so that he can turn on the light, but after seeing the ghost again he decided to sleep in the bathroom with the lights on..true story, now i never saw it but i did hear all the water and steps and you can feel his breathing sometimes..its why i used to hate sleeping with theh lights off...lol..

When I was growing up my family moved into this suburban home and there was a Ouija board in one of the closets of the house. On the third floor was a studio apartment that my lil sis and our friends used to play in. One day we were playing with our dolls and suddenly the closet door slammed shut with enough force to shake the whole room! We were scared as hell cause we were the only ones in the house and no one was near that door. we all were fighting each other to get down the attic stairs and we did not go up there again unless we were together. Oftentimes that house was very eerie and my cat even would not go into the basement to use its box when we placed it down there. He would crap by the back door until we moved the box back upstairs. We were so glad to move away from that place!

I used to work in a haunted pub. Upstairs used to be accommodation but all the doors were removed and each room had a pool table and juke box. I was up there alone one night cleaning up when I felt a presence. Turned around and saw the manager going into one of the rooms. Then the jukebox came on. It scared me so I went to hang with the manager, but there was no-one there. Ran downstairs and announced that I was not going back up there alone!!! They used to run ghost tours to that pub but apparently it was the cellar that was haunted (NEVER went there!!!)

I have yet to see any hard scientific evidence.. But I love how ones mind can play tricks. I man walked into his old home after forgetting a black candle burning. before leaving. Upon arrival with his young faience he thought someone might have broken in and was robing by candlelight in their bed room. The hair on his neck became stiff as he grabbed a dowel and cautiously drew near. When he entered the room he stood paralyzed with fear a dark shadow moved across the room and reared up to the ceiling staring strait down at him with its dark soul. He couldn't breath stunned and terrified, hopeless to comprehend.. A cat that belonged to an old man who rented the downstairs apartment of the house raced into the room. Past the man and stopped at a dead halt head lowered ears back with a very ferocious hiss and yowl. Just as soon the shadow disappeared and the candle fizzled out. He turned on the light to see his faience about five paces behind him. They later married and adopted the cat.

I used to live in a studio apartment above a business and I think it was haunted. Every once in a while the water in my bathroom would be running when I knew that I had turned it off! There were a couple of time that I was sleeping and I felt someone sit on the bed. I was too scared to open my eyes. One of those times it sounded like there was a party going on in my apartment.

Other answerers have mentioned the Ouija board and it reminded me of an incident while using one. It's not a great event that occurred but a funny one, I think.
First, among other questions,my friend, Barb asked if Joe was going to call that night and it went to "Yes". Shortly afterward, Barb had to go to work. She had hardly gotten out of the apartment when the telephone rang and it was Joe. I told him to hang on and I ran out to Barb to tell her Joe was on the line. (She said she would talk to him later and went on to work.) When I went back in Carol and I started asking the Ouija different questions. One of Carol's questions was if Cory (neighbor across the hall) would come over. The board said "Yes" and, when asked when, it went to the number "8". I looked at my watch and said it would be 8 minutes, 8 hours, etc. We kept playing and a little while later I looked at my watch and said, "Well, if it's 8 minutes, it should be about now". With that we heard the door across the hall open and footsteps approached our door. When the knock came on the door, Carol started screaming. When I opened the door, I saw it was Joe and not Cory, but he had come from Cory's. Carol immediately calmed down but Joe just stammered and looked bewildered since he had heard Carol's screams.

There is no such thing as Ghosts.

Every entity you see, is not a ghost but an evil spirit masquerading as a ghost.

The Bible says not to try to talk to the dead, this is why. These spirits will deceive you into believing we are immortal and will be in ghost form when we die, or be happy when we die.

In reality, when we die we goto the grave and 'sleep' untill Jesus Christ returns.

heck yes!! LOL Just three days ago I was reading one of my pagan books when my old man (who by the way doesn't believe in ghosts) looked up and said "whos there?"
"Hun, theres no one there." I replied to him
"No I saw some one... James or Ray must be playing a joke"Said Bill..

"No honey there wasn't anyone there." I said

Just after I said that I walked around the corner to see a flash of his dad whos been dead since 96'. I guess he wanted to see what Bill was up to.

No, but I have a story about ghost stories.

About eight years ago, I flew from Los Angeles to Scotland to work at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. After the show, most of my buddies flew over to amsterdam ~ you can imagine why.

One of the actors and I decided to take the train up to Loch Ness to visit a bed and breakfast and take a boat to see the monster.

On the way up there in the train, we sat across the two old scottish grannies who .... were sneaking scotch whisky into their coffee cups! As they got politely smashed, they told us old scottish ghost stories!
I don't recall if they said "a wee bit o' dram" or "things that go bump in the night" but they were classic regional ghost stories.

Fun!
