Well, it has to be good. We don't have to work in the fields year around just to survive.

So often we see only the technology (the vehicle) rather than the usage (that which is moved). Like everyone seeing a train and saying, 'wow, a train' instead of 'wow, we just revolutionized trade'. Same with the phones, (nice cell) but (do you have anything to say?).

What I am noticing is that for each advance there is then a collapse. Meaning that, for example, music recording got to studio quality with the coming of the compact disc. So, our standards should be huge, but it collapses down to some acceptable standards ... the compressed 98bps of a music download.
Egads, the wonderful word processors with spell check and we accept CUL8tr on a cell phone's text message.

Sadly most of the medical advances ... I'll never be able to afford.

In all, I'm most enthused by what we're calling "web 2.0" ~ in many ways our rapid advances are coming together!

That would all depend upon who is using it.
A knife in the hand of a cook can be good, A knife in the hand of a killer can be bad.
