I would say start around 10, because in this day and age they start early, unfortunately.

I started with my daughters when they were 2 or 3, nothing heavy, but I'll make a point of saying how smoking makes you sick, or drugs make your brain slow down, there won't be any awkward lectures in the future, the sex thing will wait a while, but if you wait till their 10 it's too late.

all along the way..in bits and peices age appropriately...by age 10 they should be able to catch on better because by age 7 they are integrating right from wrong morally..

There was no set age. These things were always talked about openly. The discussions deepened as he matured.

we have talked to our son, who is 9, about drugs alcohol premarital sex and smoking since he could talk. Its good to have those same expectations voiced to them. They cant read minds.
