i really want a cell phone except that my parents won't get me one tell after 8th grade and i think that is really not fair and i always make up things to say that i think might get her to get me a phone earlier so maybe i could say something differently

Do you "need" a cell phone? Is it for safety or to be able to reach your parents in an emergency? If you need one then you should get one. If you just want one because your friends have them and so you can text people during the day, then I would agree with your parents. And if they are paying for it then you really don't have any say in it - you can't force someone to buy you something if they don't want to. I would say you should be greatful they're saying they'll get you one next year!
My son has been bugging for one for 2 years now (he's your age). There's no reason he needs one, and they're not a toy (and you're looking at a 2 year contract for at least $40 a month = about $1000). Maybe your parents are looking at that cost, too, and thinking that at 13 maybe you're not careful enough with things to be trusted with it just yet.
Sorry, but I don't think there's anything you can say to your parents to force them to change their minds.

firstly you don't need a phone. Anyone you wanna talk to should be easy to contact since you are at school with them most of the time, playing with them other times and you can phone them for free when you're at home.
Secondly, it'd be easy for someone to rob it off you since you are still very young. It's not safe and there are people that will attack you for your phone.
Thirdly, mobile phones are a waste of time. People spend hours texting when they could just walk to each others houses and talk for a quicker and cheaper conversation. Real uses of mobile phones come when your car breaks down and you are stuck in the middle of nowhere.
Just wait. They're just a fad and they'll fade out. You don't really NEED a "cell" phone and you don't earn the money in your house. Your parents have to pay for your food, your bills, cook for you, clean, help you with stuff. That all amounts to more than any salary is worth and so you are in debt to them. You can't really ask for a mobile phone aswell.

yea, you're too young. You dont need the distractions that a cell phone can bring. What is so important that you need to call your friends when you're at the mall? You can wait til after school gets out for the summer. Cell phone are a privilage, not a right. I got mine when I was 16, only because I was driving, and had a job to pay for overages if I went over my minutes.

Your parents might have their reasons for not giving you one just yet. Have you checked if they have a budget for it? I wanted to give my 6th grade daughter one for the longest time but I don't have the budget for it just yet. Maybe try to explain it nicely to your parents why you want one - for emergencies, for better communications with them, in case you are in a tight fix, never say that its not fair because it only makes you sound like you want to be like the other kids who have it and its for show not a necessity on your part.

I think u deserve it.It's important for communication between you and ur mom.But are u responsible enough to have it?My niece is 9 yrs old and she had one.

no...its not good for u-ur too young, ur parents may not or may know this but ur brain will/can be severly damaged, if u use a cellphone for mroe than 2 mins blood rushes to your head b/c ur emissions basically nullify the blood in ur head!
