Families that spend time together
why? people are too busy working to make more to buy more to be better than the neighbor or driver better cars or live in bigger houses, when the most important thing in life is to spend time as a family making a better loving family making sure kids are safe loved and see when things are wrong and help not pass the buck on the music or society ....some where people lost that and now think $$$$$$ is more important than family

Patience...
Everyone wants immediate success, immediate gratification, immediate results ...
people don't seem to realize the investment of time and energy to achieve results... whether it is fitness and weight loss, promotion or education or establishing some savings etc.
I think this is because the current generation grew up in a tme of fast food, convenience food, mobility and internet ... the world has just become so fast paced... and TV and marketing tell us to want and get my needs met now by taking a pill or buying their product or service.... media gives an unrealistic and sometimes unachievable image of a lifestyle that is possible with a long term goal in mind, but not an immediate achievement.

Parents using their position as it should be used to teach and train children to become responsible productive ppl from infancy through 18 or longer if they are still in your home(and after 18 they should be paying rent or doing most of the work around the house to pay for their food and housing and clothing).Be a substitute teacher for any age class for a few days and you will see how the students have no values or social skills in regard to respect or being honorable.

Intelligence. People who are in the habit of using their heads and thinking, really truly thinking, *their own thoughts for themselves*.
Say it isn't so? Look around at the Yahoo Answers Profiles sometime....see how many people get their "Best Answers" courtesy of just plain *stealing* their info from Wikipedia by copy and paste....they don't even try to answer the question themselves.
Or....do a Google search in your own brain. ;)
Get a sheet of paper, and down the left side of it, write down every insult you know of....every put-down you'd ever use against someone for being *too smart*. Now down the right side, do the same thing, only for folks who are *too dumb*. I'll bet you the right side is only half full by the time the left side fills up.
Why is this so? Because our society, at least in the United States, has been browbeaten by the Media (Reality TV shows like "The Apprentice" for example), by Big Religion (any evangelical pastor, like Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, and so on), and especially by the Big MONEY people, your employers at Wal-Mart, and General Motors and lots and LOTS of other places.....
We've been browbeaten into believing that "It isn't what you know, it is *who* you know", or more precisely, whose butt you are willing to kiss and for how long. We've been taught that thinking is a bad thing, that the only way to get by is to learn how to suck it down and to appease those of us who abuse us, and get away with it, usually by virtue of being *so LUCKY* as to have more *money* in life than we do.
Really. Our media, politics, companies and religions are all to blame, for spreading the Plantationist message: that thinking is wrong, that we all have to "do what u r told when u r told 2 do it", and that there is no solving problems or being an individual anymore in this world....
Not that anyone cares to listen, because when you put it like that, it makes a whole *lot* of people part of the problem. Not just G.W. Bush, for example, but *everyone* who voted for him AND ALSO everyone who FAILED to vote against him....
And people don't like to be wrong, even if the ideas they are wrong about aren't even theirs. Because in the absence of reason, the ego grows wild like a cancer, you know?

Engineers. Every piece of technology you use, of any kind, was invented/designed by an engineer. But how often do you hear them getting public praise? Not very. I doubt most people know just how much engineers contribute to civilization as a whole.
Of course, that's irrelevent. Engineers know how important engineering is, and they get paid pretty well to do it.

Well I am a teenager.. so coming from me MONEY.. everyone I know is pretty spoiled.. get everything they want.. and their parents basically will buy them what they want and give into their every whim. I think people (teens more specifically) should just appreciate what they have.. and not always try to get new stuff.. and clothes and cell phones.. and other crap.. that's all i got.. lata

Honesty and Loyalty. People pay a lot of lip service to those two words-but don't really value them. Mostly they honor sucking up an greed!

Life. Everyday that a person wakes up and not thank God for waking them up, they are taking life for granted. As if God couldn't take their life any given moment because they are so unworthy of it anyway.

freedom.because so many american soldiers have made the ultimate sacrifice for OUR freedom and now lay in arlington or some forieghn battlefeild grave yard in europe or who knows where and we got dumb ignorant democrat politicians and citizens crapping on their sacrafice in the name of liberalism. makes me want to puke.
