Limewire is legal software.

Using Limewire to download copyrighted material or to make copyrighted material available for download is illegal, unless you have the permission of the copyright holder.

no its not legal,but then again the police arent going to turn up on your door for using it,ive used it for 6 months now with no propblem,just a tip if you install limewire basic then do a search on limewire for limewire pro and there it is the paid for version for free,also b4 opening any file downloaded from limewire scan the file for viruses etc its usually pretty safe with music but the program downloads are 90% viruses

In the USA, it is not legal to download copyrighted music using Limewire or any other P2P software.

The only legal music downloading services are ones that you have to pay for. Limewire is illegal and if you get caught, you could get fined up to $100,000 per download.

yes and no some files on limewire are legal but most are not thier are some you must buy a licence to use those are legal

I'm afraid not. It's P2P (peer to peer) file sharing. Anyone that tells you different is lying ... or they want your money.
