If he's a nice guy, then don't do it. You might regret afterwards and I don't believe parents r always right.

I believe you should listen to your parents always! But, You should have a long talk and discuss the best you can with the reasons why he thinks that. Age? attitude? etc... Parents have already been through a lot and they know things. in the end i think you should listen to your heart. Parents are there to help you and most of the time give you the best advice possible. Just looking after whats best for you. Hopefully :)

How old are you? If you are under 17 - 18 - listen to your dad! I'm assuming he is a good guy with reasons to not like your boyfriend. If you are over 18, listen to you Dad's reasons, think about them realistically, but make your own decision - my $.02.

Your parents may be right, but by him telling you to dump the guy that will just make you want to be with him more. It's called the Romeo and Juliet effect.

it all really depends on how long you guys have been dating and if you really care about the guy.
if your dad thinks that then he must have a good reasoning.
if he doesn't give you a reason..and you've been dating awhile..things are going good..and you really care about him..then just continue the relationship.
dad will get over it eventually..and you'll be happy.
if he has a good reason for you 2 breaking up..then listen to him..he only wants whats best for you.
good luck!

what exactly the point is girl!!? Though if your'e dad said if he is not the right one for u dump him. If you say he should let youyou dont really have to .Or if you want to. If you should keep him then let it be your worse nightmare for youre dad. If it is truly u want for you to keep him then let dad suffer the sacrifice. What would it be????

Ask your father what his reasons are and tell him that you would like to consider why he is telling you to do so. But also tell him you aren't sure if you will agree with his reasons, but you would like to understand where he is coming from. Usually a father isn't out to ruin a child's life, just to protect them. If you do not want to have a mature conversation with your father over it, you yourself aren't ready to have a boyfriend.

it depends on whether or not your dad is right. If your BF is an asshole and disrespects you then your dad isn't out of line.... If your BF is sweet and gives _YOU_ no reason to worry, your dad will come around and realize that your BF isn't so bad after all.
