I had a new hard drive installed today, and as I was running the first recovery disc, my battery died. (Yes, I'm stupid for not plugging in) Now when I power on, I have no options at all. Just a blinking white line on the upper left side of the screen after the "Vaio" start up sequence. Do I have to get it formatted? Is there any way to start the process over on my own? My internet classes have already started!

Try setting your bios to boot only from the CD-ROM then...
put the first RESTORE DISK in.

You may also check to see if your cmos has detected the proper hard disk type.

Obviously if you have a bootable disk, you have a prayer of recovering your system.

Get your original formatting disc and go through the steps again. This should have been supplied by your internet provider. They have a hotline you can call if you are having problems and they walk you through it.
