Daddy will be happy and proud. The baby will have a new playmate. My daughter was about five months old when I went off to play soldier for two weeks. When I returned, she had the oddest "do-I-know- you-from-someplace" look on her face, but accepted me immediately.
Tell daddy WELCOME HOME for me.
(I also spent five years in the Navy--four years at sea)

My husband went away on business when my guy was 6 weeks old. He went away for 1 week. My baby forgot who he was that quick! My husband came home at 1 in the morning and when matthew woke up my husband picked him up. matthew screamed like someone was killing him! About 3 days later they were playing, laughing, and waking up in the middle of the night together again. Your baby may be a little on edge with your hubby at first, but if you guys take your time the bonsd will grow! Good luck!

My daughter is now six months, her father left for basic training when she was four months. It was a hard decision to make, but in the long run it was the right one for our family. How bad it must be for him to have to be away from the baby(and for the both of you missing him!)!!! I'm sure at two months he will be glad to have this great new person around that loves him very much. I'm sure the transition will be smooth, he is still pretty young. Best wishes to you and your family!!

At 2 months I dont think it would make a difference. I went to visit my family for a month when my daughter was 5 months, when we got back home she didnt know my husband and didnt want to go to him. She cried with him all the time but within a week it was like we never left.

I am glad daddy is coming home safely and I don not think there will be any problems with your baby. They are too young at 2 months to know whats going on, your baby will be fine.

I havent been through that.. but..
Babies are naturally more attached to mama. You should be fine.. just small bits of Daddy time.. build it up. If baby cries, dont feel hurt.. it happens.. babies cry.
Good luck and happy reunion

I don't think a 2 month old will really know the difference. I'm glad he's coming home. Woo hoo.
