what exactly is ch ex steams? And if you've got abuse on your account then it might hard to find a bank that will give you an account, but I'm not an expert on finance, sorry

I had that happen to me when I was in college. Basically, if you left your existing bank you are screwed. No other bank (that uses ChexSystems) will touch you.
I would recommend that you try Credit Unions as the smaller ones are less likely to use ChexSystems. You may get rejected by a few, but keep trying!
Alternatively, you can try to get the original bank to remove the notice from ChexSystems. Undoubtedly, you will have to pay them back for whatever they flagged you for in the first place before they will play nice.....

Most of the time if a bank reports you to chex systems it will be on there for the next seven years even if you pay them back. I don't know where you live but if you have a FSNB(Fort Sill National Bank) anywhere near you, I have heard they don't use chex systems.

All banks have access to chexsystem. They will know as soon as they enter your SSN.
