no one would demand their senator to speak to them no citizen can ever get through to their public servants directly with out being screened by a public relations office I guess what I'm asking is were in the constitution does it say that a puplic servant is entitled to be shofered around and flown first class at the expence of the citizens who cant afford to fly first class them selfs why is stuff like that not challenged and what makes them so special . when is a good time to demand answers from our government before laws are past or after cause i really dont think homeland security stands for a secure homeland when we are sspending so much money on keeping peace in foreign lands than we spend on our own streetes (am I wrong in this way of thinking )

Eye thot that every amerikan citisen wuz awayre of the fack that thier politicians are public cervints .

I very much disagree with you about the spending priorities of our federal government. International relations is a much more important priority for our federal tax dollars than spending money "on our own streetes."

I agree matthew, somewhere along the line they FORGOT that they are elected public S E R V A N T S...their job is to S E R V E the public. But today, many of them behave as if they were nobility and should be addressed as "Sire" or "Madame"....

It is my own opinion that we, the people have handed over too much power to them. Part of it a problem of our own doing, the desire to have our "problems" taken care of by others. Have we become too lazy to address our own "problems"? Have we become so complacent that we place much of the power of we, the people in the hands of so few? I haven't made up my mind one way or the other yet, but as time goes by it seems that the answers may be "yes".

God Bless the U.S.A.

Because we see year in and year out corrupt politicians at every level of government. There is an old saying "When politicians aren't kissing babies they are stealing their lollie pops".

I quite trusting politicians in the late 60's. You know that old saying "never trust anyone over 30"? Hell, I don't even trust myself!

I understand your frustration, and agree. Problem is our politicians exempt themselves from the very laws they pass to control us, and isolate themselves in their high towers. It will come to an end when we see they aren't representing us as they should, such as if another 9/11 should happen.
