i've never heard that i always took one before i missed one i guess if you think of it as you can't take one till after you missed a period its because it takes that long for the hormone to register on a home pregnancy test other than that i've never heard you can't take one until you miss your period

The hormone levels of HCG increase everyday you are pregnant. They can't be detected by the average urine test until youve been pregnant for at least 7 days. You can have your doc give you a blood test the day after implantation though

you can take one before you miss if you get a early detection test.
most people dont think you should test before your perios is missed because of the heartache it can cause if you have a early misscarry and start your period a few days late.
but i have always tested before i missed! and i have had them!
(i misscarried once before i had any babies but i didnt test till i went oops completly missed last months and this months anit here eiter!) so it was probly kinda my fault that i lost it cause i hadnt been taking care of my self because i didnt know i gotten preg when i had gotten preg.
i think the earlier you know the earlier you can start taking less riskes. and the earlier you can get to a DOC
