No. Mars is not even close. It would never get close to the moon in actual distance.

Sometimes it may get close in the sky and appear next to the moon, but in reality it would still be millions of miles or kilometers away.

Even in the best of approaches similar to what happened in 2003 when mars was within 35 million miles of Earth.

As a matter of fact, Mars is on the other side of the sun right now.

No, it is not. But it is making the closest pass to Earth that it has made in thousands of years. Instead, the astronomers tell us that Mars will be as bright as the moon.
