You don't put in the bid, you call electrical contractors who are interested, they each give you a bid for what they can do the work for, and you choose the lowest, or most amicable bid.

Well you need to have a set of plans available for the electrical contractor. Ask people you know to see if they know any good electricians, if not look in the phone book and call around. Describe the job to them. If they are interested they will want to take a look at the place and discuss with you what you want to get done- putting in new outlets, what type of lighting and any other bits like that. Hopefully you will get a few bids back and then proceed on from there. Good luck.

Im a carpenter so I cant exactly answer your question,
most jobs are bid either time and material (they quote you a price for the job,and then you pay as they go). Others are bid solid (they give you a nuber and thats what you pay) usually with the latter a contract is formed where as in the time and material you are actually paying them as empoyees with hourly wages .If you are the one hiring the contractor you do not make bids they bid off you. Your best bet is to get a couple of bids then make your decsion who to hire.

just put an ad in the paper that you are taking bids, and expain briefly the job. then wait for them to start calling for appointments.
