I think it's a bad thing. The Chinese will be competing now for all the scarce resources we need for our economy. Pretty soon the Indians will join them. Outsourcing has grown the Chinese economy and now we will have to compete for the resources from here on in.

I've been expecting it for about a year now, Chavez really hates the U.S. and would take any chance he got to hurt us. Even though shipping the oil to China means less profit for him (unless the Chinese are willig to pay more) because of the increased shipping distance.

It doesn't really matter, oil is auctioned on the world commodities markets. If China somehow locked up all Venezualia's oil, then it wouldn't be buying other oil on the world market that we could.

China is growing like gangbusters, and they are hungry for oil, steel, copper, cement, resources of almost every kind. They also have a lot of $US to spend on it that they make exporting stuff to us.

where do you suppose those missles will be aimed?
