Your weight can go up and down 5 pounds every day, depending on when you weigh yourself and what foods you've been eating, how much water and exercise you have had... I think I gained less than five pounds after two or three months of being pregnant... So I guess just take a pregnancy test to see for sure!

Not really. Usually in the first couple of weeks you lose a pound or two due to the morning sickness. You don't really gain that fast. Then again, all women are different, so check it out if you're trying to get pregnant.

If it isn't normal for you to gain this much weight in a week, check first if you are pregnant. If you are, congratulations! If you are NOT pregnant, there are several possibilities - your metabolism might be slowing down or your thyroid gland is acting up. If it worries you and you're not pregnant but gaining weight and no amount of exercise is keeping your weight down, go have yourself checked by a doctor - preferably an endocrinologist to check your thyroids. Good luck.

I doubt it, you would have to be pretty far along to have such a substantial gain, and the likelihood of you not noticing until now is highly unlikely. Have you been having unprotected sex? If so I vote that you should stop that, and then you wouldn't be worried about such things, and focus more on your health, and what they hell you've done to gain 5 lbs. in 1 week!

If someone is pregnant and they gain weight extremely fast it can be a sign of a molar pregnancy, which is, when the egg instead of developing into a baby, develops into a mass, which can cause certain types of cancer later on.

Maybe. I've never had that happen, five in one week...but I believe anything is possible anymore. You should go to a doctor coz maybe you've got some other reason why the sudden one week? weight gain.
