i think you should let your friend know that would like them to come, in the event that they would like to take their mind off of their loss. but also let them know that you are there for them no matter what, and you may want to invite them over (alone) to talk or do whatever they want...just let her decide what she feels comfortable doing.
hope i helped-sorry

Is the grandpa of hers in close relationship with her ? If yes, I think instead of you ask her to join your party, you should cancel your pool party and join her to give her yr full support. It is not only rude to ask her to join you, it is totally not caring enough to do that as a man. She may leave you if you do so. On the contrary, join her and she will be yours throughout your life. You only need to miss one party. Maybe you can postpone your party. The more important the party it is to you, the more she will love you.

Tell her that you really care about her, and that if it would help her feel better, you would like to invite her over to relax and take her mind off of all that sad stuff. She may not feel like it, because it's hard to lose someone, but just let her know that you are making the offer because you don't like to see others(and her especially) in pain, and you think that if it would help her in her situation to be with her friends for a little while at least, but that you understand if she thinks it wouldn't help, and she can always come next time.

Hey man, you can't be serious, that your party is more important than your friend losing her grandpa. You should re-schedule the party for when this person is ready, have a heart.

She cant just forget and i think you should let her miss this one... she might need some along time with her family. but let her know that you would love it if she would show face. Make her feel loved and wanted.. but NO PRESSURE... I've been in this situation b4... except it was my aunt who passed and my best friends bbq party... thats what she did and it made me feel good

Apologize for her lost, but let her know you are there for her if she needs a friend to talk to, and remind her that you are having a get together with friends...and if she's looking to get away from it all, to come and check you out.

Honestly, it would be very rude. Instead, ask her if there is anything you could do.
