It wasn't difficult for me because I was willing to relocate anywhere in the country to get my first teaching position. Friends of mine tied themselves to certain areas nearby and even certain nearby school districts... they were hired as substitute teachers, but never were hired full-time. You just have to be willing to go to where the jobs are.

I took whatever job I could find at first, while sending resumes to people in the field I wanted to be in. I sent about 50. I kept moving to jobs that were closer to my field.
I landed at my current job 4 years later and have been there 21 years.

It depends on the place you graduate. SOme places have more oportunities for young people while others are occupied
