Very big let down after seeing the trailer where he crushes the t rex skeleton in the museum. I expected for Godzilla King of Monsters to be killing thousands, and burning NYC down but instead he was running, digging and laying eggs for 2 hours + of mental torture.

Japan is cooler than us. There’s just no denying that one. The odd thing is, Japan wants to be the U.S., so they take something distinctly American and try to emulate it. Often times this results in something very… Japanese. Case in point: Godzilla.
After WWII, the Japanese film industry was in ruins, so the producers went looking for pre-made stories. Lo and behold, they came across the movie “The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms”, a movie about a giant monster created by an atomic blast. While remaking this movie, it underwent a transformation, taking on even more anti-nuke tones, and becoming a cultural phenomenon.
Flash forward 40 odd years to Hollywood, a town with few original ideas left in it. Looking for inspiration elsewhere, someone notices the cash cow that is Godzilla. Seeing a sure fire way to make some money (hey, it works in Japan), they enlist someone to make an American Godzilla. Unfortunately, the very essence of the giant monster is missed, and instead of Godzilla, we end up with a remake of (are you ready for this?) “The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms”.
Weird huh? Many fans of the series refer to this turkey as GINO: Godzilla In Name Only. Now, for the stinger. When Godzilla 2000 was released in the U.S., the trailer featured the Rob Zombie song “Superbeast”, the chorus of which is:
“Hey yeah, I’m the one that you wanted
Hey yeah, I’m the Superbeast!”
So, in answer to your question, yes. Yes I did.

Maybe the last version sucked but the 70's movie of Godzilla rocked. The best was the battle between King Kong and Godzilla.
Then there was Megazilla and Godzilla battle that was cool too.

No way, i admire the Godzilla video clips and all those different classic monster video clips like Mothra and Gamera. they are cheesetastic! no longer partial to extra cutting-area horror movies like the Grudge.
