I know it's normal to feel irritable before and during your period, but I always feel downright horrible. I feel like I could cry for no reason! A dog food commercial made actual tears run down my face today. A memory of a guy I once dated made me want to pick up the phone, call him, and start asking him if he wanted to give things another shot! (That's not only sensitive, that's downright nuts!)..Does anyone else get like this?? An explanation or maybe your funny stories dealing with this issue would really be helpful. (Try not to make me cry)

It used to happen to me. Are you on birth control pills? Different brands have diffrent levels of hormones in them which can cause side affects in people. I used to be on Triphasil. I talked to my Dr about my PMS depression and he changed my pills to Alesse. It had a higher estrogen level then my former pills. Now I have no problems with sadness at all before my period. I feel perfectly normal and my emotions are level. And I also don't bloat like I used to (bonus!) and my periods are shorter and lighter (double bonus!). If your not on birth control pills, try Alesse (Obviously talk to your Dr. first), even just to regulate you hormones and get rid of the PMS sadness.

Here is a great website that tells you which pills are best for you. Look for the side affect you have (depression) and then find out which one will help alleviate that symptom.

YEP! Its normal! I get like that, luckily I only get mine once every 3 months (because of the DEPO shot). The last time, I cried because all I had was change in my wallet, all I had to do was go to the ATM on my way to work, but I was hysterical. Luckily my sis was there & she made it all better. Even when its not "that time" I cry for no reason alot! You are perfectly normal hun! I did tell my doc about it & he put me on LEXAPRO, which worked & XANAX for the panic attacks, I get those as well!

Your hormones shouldn't swing that dramatically. I would suggest going to see your doctor about it.
