The brownish discharge is likely the start of your period, however, if you have not had this before you should see your gynocologist or primary care physician to have it checked out and get a pap smear if you have not had one recently. There are several things that could cause you to not have your period and since I don't know your age, level of activity, diet, or symptomology I really couldn't speculate. See your doctor.

are you sure the brownish discharge isn't your period? sometimes my period is brown when it is very light. thats fine. you sound young, how long has it been since your first period? until about a year or more after my first, i would skip a couple months, have it so light it wouldnt have matter if i used a pad or not and stuff like that. if you are concerned go to the doctor. contact me if you need more help.

The brownish discharge sounds to me like old blood, you need to go to the Dr, are you sure your not pregnant, beause a tubal pregnancy can kill you, if the baby grows in the tubes and gets big your tubes will burst, and you could bleed to death.GO to the DR.

It could be several things... depending on how old you are it could be menopause.. Have you been stressed out lately?? too much stress can cause you to skip a period. How much do you work out??? Most females who work out extensively find that their periods almost nonexistant. If it isn't any of the above and your period doesnt return soon, then I would suggest that you see a doctor.

When I had a brownish discharge, I immediately went to my GYN. She said it was "old blood" and nothing to worry about. I was too relieved to ask anymore about it.

Stress starting school, work etc. can cause this ,and you are probably starting. But usually cramps are involved if stress held it up. Still go to a DOC.

It could be stress however I would go see you OBGYN. If your perioids are usually regular and now this happened, you should definitely see a doctor. Home pregnancy tests are not always acurate.

I would defiantly go get a check-up with your doc. & see what's going on. Without proper testing it is difficult to diagnose your symptoms.
