Street's aren't poured concrete or anything, but why are they so much nicer and more solid than asphalt driveways?

drive ways are for very lite traffic so they use almost straight asphalt,,, the highways are under very HEAVY traffic both in weight and numbers,, and they must last a long time so binders and other long wear substances are used ,, if they highway used the same as driveways,, they wouldn't last to the end of the day!!

Because they bear a whole lot more traffic than a driveway. The asphalt for roads is engineered differently than that used for driveways.

because the streets were made for many kinds of vehicles and all types of traffic.
I'm sure driveways do not get the types of traffic that main streets get

there isn't as much effort in street pavement and more ppl use it.
