Alternative, definately not punk-pop, ppunk-pop is more blink-182, and emo is more Taking back Sunday.

I would consider both Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco to be on the brink of emo, but they're very pop-y.
I don't listen to either much anymore (I mostly listen to 90s music), and I never really knew what they were. Everyone has been telling me lately that they're emo, but if you tell an "emo" person that, they (typically) get offended and tell you that those two bands are not emo.

No, nor did Fall Out Boy help in making P!ATD in call for. Patrick Stump grew to become into the lead singer of FOB. Brandon Urie grew to become into the lead singer of P!ATD Pete Wentz helped bands like well-being club type Heroes and Panic on the Disco get accessible, however the band Fall Out Boy as an entire did no longer.

I'd vote for pop-punk. They're are a few good bands in that genre right now, but I am sincerely biding my time till the majority of this flooded crap has their five minutes.

I wonder, if you asked the bands, if they would be able to explain what kind of music they are. I'll bet there would be alot of slashes in their explaination. Anywho, they're both purdy neato bands so why slap a label on them?
