I have 2 swordtails, 2 neon tetras, and a algae eater. I want some more colorful fish. My aquarium looks so empty... I need more fish.

You could try platies or mollies or maybe a loach. Just don't get any barbs, they will nip your other fish to death.

more neons since they like to be in groups of 5 or more. Check out cardinal tetras too and platys and male guppies. However it is better to understock an aquarium then overstock it so that it looks "fuller". Instead of adding more fish (except add more neons), add some live plants to fill up the tank more.

There are Guppy's, Black Ruby Barb, Zebra Danio, Angel Fish, Dwarf Gourami, Kissing Gourami, Honey Gourami, Silver Lyretail Molly if having male and female you should have more then one female of the molly and guppy for each male. Check with your fish supplier to make sure any fish gets along with the fish you already have.

I would agree with everyone who has said to get yourself a Betta, but keep in mind that the Males will tear each other up if there are more than one of them in a tank, so just get yourself a single Betta male, and some females (which won't fight with each other over him or anthing else - hehe).

Also you may want to check into various kinds of Barbs.

You may want to give this site a lookover because it is an awesome information and resource site!

Male Guppies (you have to buy 1 female which aren't as colorful with every male), betas, Gouramis are all freindly fish! Stay away form balck Tetras as they tend to terrorize the other fish in the tank. You might want to look at ocem of the fancy goldfish too!

Watch the size of your tank. Guildline to use is 1 inch / gallon.

anyway I really enjoy my cherry barbs. They're a red/gold colour. Similar behaviour to tetras (like schooling, etc.)

get more neon tetras they should be in schols.(sp??) you do not need a female for every male guppy - that would cause ridiculous amounts of stress on the females. you could get some male guppies aswell. what size tank do you have?
