As much as I liked Lady and the Tramp and many other movies by the Disney Studios, I am not a fan of Walt Disney.

During the years when actors, writers, etc were being blacklisted by the government/studios, Walt Disney played a major role in getting many artists blacklisted. In a world offered up by Walt Disney, I don't think I would have survived.

Also, helping the government blacklist people was Elia Kazan...It's all a matter of public record and film on the Congressional inquiry during those dark days of McCarthyism.

But, to answer the question...Lady and the Tramp.

The first answer that popped in my head is a the one called "The Ugly Dachshund". It stars Suzanne Pleshette and Dean Jones. Those two made Blackbeard's Ghost and The Shaggy DA together with Disney also. They had great chemistry, especially in this one. It was made in 1966. It was after Suzanne made Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds." That's a really good one too!!

Plot Line Summary: Fran Garrison's all in a tizzy because her prize Dachshund, Danke, is having pups, and she has hopes of one of the pups becoming a champion. But at the vet's, her husband Jim is talked into letting Danke wetnurse a Great Dane pup that's been abandoned by his mother. And Jim wants to keep the Great Dane. But Brutus has this problem: he thinks he's a dachshund and he's too big to be a lapdog. But when Fran ridicules Brutus one too many times, Jim's got a plan to prove to everyone (and Fran) that a great dane can be far more than just an ugly dachshund.

It's really funny what all happens because he is so large and plays with his much smaller "siblings". It's great family fun and holds up well today. Because the story line is ageless.

Suzanne Pleshette is one of those consistantly good actresses. One of my favorite episodes from the Columbo DVD sets stars her, "Dead Weight" 1971.

My favorite Disney film is an old nature film from 1970(I think) called The King of the Grizzlies. It was about this bear cub's life from when he was born to when he reached adulthood and became the the king of his territory. And his encounter with man. This really doesn't do justice to the movie. This is just a short synopsis. It was a wonderful movie.
