Once your pregnant you quit ovulating during the 40 weeks. No egg is required. Nursing also slows down your period from returning. So you won't know when you've ovulated until you bleed. So, it's good to use some kind of barrier method once you resume sexual relations.

It stops ovulating as the balance of hormones changes. Most women who breastfeed won't start ovulating until at least 6 months after the birth.

You stop ovulating - the hormones in your body "tell" your ovaries not to release any eggs during the time you are pregnant.

why would you ovulate if you're pregnant? that does not make sense
