I've been doing my BBT every morning.....We had sex 2 days prior, the day of, and 2 days after ovulation. My BBT remained elevated for 4 days after ovulation then it dropped slightly, then back up, then down slightly again, then back up again. I know that it usually stays elevated if your pregnant...but is it possible that it flucuate like that.....it only went back to baseline 1 time and has stayed elevated at least .4 degrees. I also started bleeding 5 days prior to my expected period date, however it was very minimal. Then I didn't bleed for the next 4 days, and now I have a slight stain of blood when I wipe when going to the bathroom. Could this be implantation bleeding? Could I be pregnant? Is it too early to take a Ptest? I'm only actually 1 day late. Please help!

Fluctuations could be due to a number of things. Are you taking your temp at the same time every morning or adjusting your reading for late temps? Are you taking them only after the prescribed amount of sleep? In general, if it's stayed elevated then you could be pregnant. The timing of the bleeding you had earlier sounds likely to be implantation. If you're a day late it's probably not too early to test. You might get a false negative this early, but some brands claim to be able to detect hcg as early as five days before you miss your period.

Take the test. BBT can fluctuate as long s it stays generally elevated!
